Hi.  I thought I'd tell you a little about myself.  I live in South Orange, New Jersey, with my husband David, two dogs, a cat and a Seeing Eye puppy-in-training.  My family and I have been  involved with The Seeing Eye (R) in Morristown, raising puppies as guides for  the blind, for over fourteen years.  A lot of cute puppies have come and gone in that time.  Currently we are raising  Wilda, a black Labrador retriever puppy.            After fifteen years of volunteering in the local school libraries, I now work part-time at the Maplewood Memorial Library  children's room.   It is a fun job and I can keep up on what's new in children's literature.  I wish I could read every book.
	I was born Joan Wolf in Brooklyn,  New York, and I graduated from  the State University of New York at Buffalo.  My husband and I lived in Cincinnati, Ohio, Amherst, New York, and Shaker Heights, Ohio before moving to New Jersey.           Besides writing and playing with the puppies in my spare time I like  to bake theme cakes, read, and work in my garden, which I tend to overstuff with blue, pink, and purple flowers.  I also like to solve puzzles, such as jigsaw, crossword, and cryptoquotes, and I should probably complain to whoever invented Sudoku for wreaking havoc with my free time.  My husband and I also enjoy traveling.           I am a member of Mystery Writers of America,  Sisters-in-Crime, and Romance Writers of America.  I am available for appearances and may be contacted at Joani@joaniascher.com
